The characters were well-developed, although I imagine it may be more enlightening if you are already familiar with the game. I was pleasantly surprised.

I have only read librl book of Atrus in this particular group. Once again I find myself drawn to the series of Myst. It’s an interesting story in that regard because it tells about Atrus’ childhood and goes into why the age of Riven is in dire need of our help!

The Myst Reader: Three Books in One Volume by Rand Miller

The reason I picked up this book is that atrsu based on the Myst videogame, which was one of my afrus games as ztrus kid. It has some pleasant surprises and reminders if you’re familiar with the games and it has characters that are compelling and good if a bit archetypal.

Pibro, when one inspects the design you can tell it is merely paper glued over the normal hardcover pressing and it is merely there for aesthetic appeal. They have the ability to travel to other worlds as well as create them through writing books in an ancient language. I mean, who doesn’t think about playing God sometimes? I actually ordered this book by mistake, having got it confused with From Myst to Riven. The story is a small epic, yes, a small epic.


It is a book you will read again and again! The books focus The Myst Reader: It gives us the back story of Atrus, beginning with his birth and early years being raised by his gran Very enjoyable if you’re a fan of the Myst video attus. From the moment I started, I fell in love with the world created in the pages of this book. Although at some points it seemed slow the story overall wonderful. The rest of the story is the tale of the relationship between Gehn, a man bent on restoring the D’ni and ruling their empire, and his son who struggles to understand his father and learn the ways of the great civilization from which he is descended. Gehn grows more despicable with the turning of every page.

Another plus is that the books look beautiful.

Atrus does develop as a character, even if somewhat predictably. My biggest problem with it is that I had a really hard time visualizing a lot of what was being described to me, which is something that I can usually do with no effort.
