Might I suggest a Cushcraft?
Diamond CP5H any thoughts?
It’s not brilliant on 40 either, being still quite short, but well capable of working DX with W on the higher bands. G4ILOJan 22, I assembled the antenna, just as it was taken down leaving all the radials as they were and a quick tune around showed no difference to the tune from 2.
Nothing great but it does prove that the antenna works. For the same reason a short cable with a choke is included in the shipment.
K6FIJan 22, The antenna works on all bands as a quarter wave vertical. All in all, I am not unhappy with my purchase, although it would be nice if it were a bit less expensive.
K6FIJan 18, Antenna for 7, 14, 21, 28 and 50MHz, length only 3. This reduces the influence of the mast to resonance of the radials, which in turn eases the tuning of the radials.
Diamond CP-5HS 5 band vertical antenna
The BB-7V is a wideband antenna, so it works also outside the amateur bands. They are quite easy to tune up by changing the length of radials. Made of telescopic aluminum tubes which are fixed with stainless steel hose clamps, including solid mast mount.
I narrowed my options to Cushcraft, Comet and Diamond. I have only had this antenna for a week, but it certainly performs as advertised.
If I had this to do over again, I would definitely try a Dipole first. I am always looking for a better vertical Whether the price agrees with the performance remains to be seen. G4ILOJan 18, Ease of setup and operation speaks for itself.
CP SERIES/DIAMOND ANTENNA CORPORATION
I worked all continents with diamond CP-5H in 6, 10, 15 and 20 meters phone end cw in this bands the range is good.
If ciamond vertical antenna should be installed on the ground other radials are required at least as long as the antenna is high, better longer, as many as possible, not less than diamoond Diamond multiband vertical HF antenna with shortened radials for 6, 10, 15, 20, 40, 80m. Usual high quality finish and easy mounting, as known by Diamond products.
Contact the site with comments or questions. The radiator is grounded, thus preventing static discharge.

I have heard of people having issues getting the Hustler BTV’s to load up correctly because I have been researching them as they are cheap and once diamonf get them tuned, they work but you have to add radials also I choose the CP-5HS on the reputation of their antennas quality.
That’s good, because the one criticism I was going to make of the ‘5 is that the bandwidth is pretty small on 80 and it doesn’t work that well anyway. I will look into the R Already have many European contacts in the diamobd including 40m.
I would still mention the drift when the antenna gets wet, but as a portable antenna that is easy to set up with repeatable performance it is ciamond ideal.
